Flip through the pages and join explorers as they discover and chart Australia. Beautiful scientific drawings illustrate exquisite flora and fauna, as Baudin&#8217;s voyagers collected over 100,000 specimens.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most lavishly equipped scientific (? ornata) by Charles-Alexandre Lesueur<\/p><\/div>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h6><strong>About the authors<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Jean Fornasiero<\/strong> is Emeritus Professor of French Studies at the\u00a0University of Adelaide and a Fellow of the Australian Academy\u00a0of the Humanities.\u00a0<strong>Lindl Lawton<\/strong> is Senior Curator at the South Australian\u00a0Maritime Museum.\u00a0<strong>John West-Sooby<\/strong> is Professor of French Studies at the\u00a0University of Adelaide.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"p1\"><strong>About the book<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\">This book was published to coincide with the touring\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">exhibition <\/span><em>The Art of Science: Baudin\u2019s Voyagers 1800\u20131804.<\/em><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0This exhibition\u00a0<\/span>showcases more than 350 works from the Lesueur\u00a0Collection held by the Museum of Natural History in\u00a0Le Havre, Normandy, France. The exhibition has toured nationally, visiting Adelaide, Launceston, Hobart, Sydney and Canberra, before finishing up in Perth. It opened at the Western Australian Museum in September and runs until 9 December 2018.
