This is fascinating from a true crime perspective (get on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wakefieldpress.com.au\/product.php?productid=1102&amp;cat=0&amp;page=1\"><em>Dead by Friday<\/em><\/a> if you haven&#8217;t already, by the by) but also important reading for every SA citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Next, we have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/future_tense\/2014\/05\/06\/_blessed_hashtags_are_the_new_scare_quotes.html\">this article<\/a>\u00a0about hashtags and how they signify meaning\u00a0(fascinating and highly recommended for all you wordnerds out there). Contains the brilliant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/11\/04\/magazine\/in-praise-of-the-hashtag.html?_r=0\">NY Times<\/a> quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: #281b21;\">When\u00a0<strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><em>Slate<\/em><\/strong>\u2018s<strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u00a0<\/strong>Julia Turner profiled the hashtag in 2012\u2014months before it would be named the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #660033;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.americandialect.org\/woty\" target=\"_blank\">American Dialect Society\u2019s Word of the Year<\/a>\u2014she noticed that it allowed \u201cthe best writers to\u00a0<a style=\"color: #660033;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/11\/04\/magazine\/in-praise-of-the-hashtag.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\">operate in multiple registers at once<\/a>, in a compressed space.\u201d \u00a0She concluded, \u201cIt\u2019s the <strong>Tuvan throat singing<\/strong> of the Internet.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Next (and on theme), we have some Tuvan throat singing:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DY1pcEtHI_w?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, there&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/sawriterscentre.wordpress.com\/\">SA Writers Centre<\/a>&#8216;s\u00a0editing boot camp <a href=\"http:\/\/sawriterscentre.wordpress.com\/2014\/05\/06\/editing-bootcamp-program\/\">program<\/a>, which has just been released.
