Mapping the World
David is a master wordsmith with a wide range of poetic skills and a mature, humane and insightful vision. Every page will make you stop and read again. This is restrained, carefully crafted and evocative poetry - its lines and images will lodge in your mind and perhaps stir you to reconsider your own mapping.

David Adès lives in Adelaide with his wife Natasha, and his daughter Orli. He has been a regular reader at Friendly Street Poets since 1979, and has also served as a committee member and convenor, and co-edited the Friendly Street Poetry Reader 26. He has read his poetry at many venues around South Australia and also in Austin, Texas, where he could barely be heard above the sound of an espresso machine. David’s poems have been published in a number of Friendly Street Readers and in many Australian literary magazines including Island, Blue Dog, Tirra Lirra, Wet Ink, Four W and Famous Reporter, as well as in the Rumanian magazine Vatra. David’s poetry is also featured in the CD Adelaide 9, The Poetry of the City. His short story 'Dancing with Etti' won the 2005 Wirra Wirra Short Story Competition.
