Erin Brannigan lectures in dance at the University of New South Wales and works in the fields of dance and film as an academic and curator. She was the founding Director of ReelDance in 1999 and has curated dance screen programs and exhibitions for Melbourne International Arts Festival 2003, Sydney Festival 2008 and international dance screen festivals. Brannigan writes on dance for the Australian arts magazine RealTime. Her publications include Moving Across Disciplines: Dance in the Twenty-First Century, Platform Paper No. 25 (Sydney: Currency House, 2010) and Dancefilm: Choreography and the Moving Image (New York: Oxford University Press, 2010). She has published articles in Senses of Cinema, Writings on Dance, Brolga and International Journal of Performance Arts and Digital Media.
Virginia Baxter is Publisher and co-Managing Editor of RealTime, the national arts magazine, which she co-founded with Keith Gallasch in 1994. For Open City, Baxter co-wrote, produced and performed a number of significant multidisciplinary performance works at Performance Space, 1987-96. She was the Chair (1992-99) of Playworks, the National Women Writers' Workshop, has worked as a dramaturge on performance and dance projects and was co-curator with Julie-Anne Long of the 2002 Antistatic contemporary dance event. She edited the collected papers and performance texts of Playworks' 10th anniversary in 1995 as Telling Time (Playworks, 1997; revised 1999) and, for RealTime, co-edited the In Repertoire series (1999–2004) for the Australia Council, promoting Australian performance for international touring.
