Peter Read studied Modern History at Oxford University and taught at various schools in Kenya and the United Kingdom before joining the teaching staff at Scotch College in 1967. He was Housemaster of Anderson for eleven years and editor of Scotch College Magazine (now Cluaran) and Scotch Reports. While still at Anderson he was made Head of the History Department. In 1983 he was appointed Housemaster of the Senior Boys Boarding House, then situated in Torrens Park House. He lived and worked with the boarding fraternity until he retired in 1993.
Alex Pouw-Bray has a Masters degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and a PhD from Flinders University. He has taught in a wide variety of educational settings in Western Australia, Alberta and British Columbia in Canada, and in South Australia. He was Head of History at Scotch College Adelaide from 1990 until 2009. He has published articles in history of education periodicals, and presented papers on a range of topics.
