Ashley Mallett is a born storyteller and former Test cricketer. His ambition was to take 100 Test wickets, a feat he achieved in his 23rd match, along with Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Graham McKenzie. Ashley continues to write cricket for the Age, Sydney Morning Herald and Cricinfo, and to coach Australia's best and emerging spin bowlers, either as head of Spin Australia, an international spin bowling coaching program, or with Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. Ashley has worked with a number of recent Australian, English and Sri Lankan spinners including Graeme Swann, Rangana Hereath and Nathan Lyon. Away from the cricket scene, Ashley teaches Write Biography in Adelaide. The Diggers' Doctor is Ashley's 32nd book.
