Vintages in Music

Set on the edge of rolling hills with spectacular views just south of Adelaide, the Coriole Music Festival is an annual weekend event comprising three concerts of classical chamber and vocal music, performed by some of Australia's leading musicians in the Barrel Room of Coriole Winery, McLaren Vale. Between concerts, audiences enjoy meals created by Coriole's chef using local produce and Coriole wines, where audience and performers are encouraged to mix, and can wander the gardens featuring works by a noted Australian sculptor.

From the Middle Ages, Western music has evolved in different countries with distinctive traditions and styles. Vintages of Music illustrates some of these different threads, and includes short biographical sketches of many of the major composers. It follows the birth and evolution of the Coriole Music Festival from its family origins in 1999 to its current position, according to Graham Strahle of the Australian, as 'one of Australia's top three music festivals'.
